@daylight IIRC sirens started out as just a group of women on an island who sang so beautifully they'd lure over sailors who'd then ran their ships aground on cliffs and drowned.

I know mythological creatures have probably been melted together and people have applied stuff from one to the other throughout history, but I still don't like it when harpies and sirens are combined.
