@Nine I don't think you need to have played more than maybe one or two before you start to develop a nose for the stuff. (I used to be a massive fangirl in a past life, now I'm pretty casual with it)
@Nine haha, yeah that's basically EXACTLY what got me into it initially.
I doubt the series ever would have gotten as crazy as it did if the owner wasn't super lenient and chill about fan works and stuff like that... [insert long boring speech about the unfortunate state of intellectual property laws, etc]
@Nine it's kinda fun looking at the earlier games and comparing his art in them to what he's been doing more recently imo... and yeah, I don't think we're ever gonna get any real word on that unfortunately ;_;
atm I'm still kind of amused and slightly in awe of the fact that there are touhou fan games all over Steam now, lol. this one in particular just looks absolutely gorgeous https://store.steampowered.com/app/851100/Touhou_Luna_Nights/
@Chel oh yeah completely. I mean ZUN's art was never... super amazing (pixel art tho, real good, ZUN got super great at that and the drawn character art has gotten better as the series continued) but has always been really chill about other artists taking over on side projects and such.
Still no answer on the weirdness with the first five PC-98/Amusement Makers published games and how they relate to the Windows era games' canon tho.
