@evie I’m from Portland so I’m a bit biased, but I think it’s a fair bit more pleasant? It can also be pretty expensive, but not to the same degree. It also has the benefit of being way more laid back imo
@Chel I've gotta spend more time in Portland
I've never like, gone up north specifically for Portland, it's usually "yeah, I guess we'll stop in Portland for a little before we get to Washington"
Maybe next year I'll try going up there specifically for Portland
@evie that makes sense, tbh. It’s not as dense as Seattle is, but there’s a lotta fun stuff scattered about, such that my partner and I visit it super frequently as a place for cheap vacations.
@decis @evie it’ll be okay! We’re aiming for early 2020, so it’s still a fair while away
we’re gonna have things pretty carefully planned out to try and cut down on the stress factor, and we’ve already moved from Seattle to Kent to Tacoma to Seattle in recent years trying to find a place we want to settle down in, so we’re quite experienced with city hopping at this point 😅
@Chel Portland might also be nice to live in
I just kinda want out of California tbh
