@prin@weirder.earth you mean you’re not enamored with the in-room coffee making facilities, in all their glory? :o

(not gonna lie, this is something that I should start doing as well)

@mauve@lgbtq.cool tough job, but someone’s gotta do it. :paw_fx90_muscle:

I’m tired as heck over here

being gay is hard work

@maple okay so don't dev on prod, got it

but what about prodding on the dev? :blobthinking:

is this okay? if you do it gently?

how to train your dragon rant (shitpost)

@Scarly they had to do that. they -had- to make her blazingly blatantly femme af, because we all know that all of the other dragons are male and gay - thus it was important for them to work in a bit of heterosexual representation... I mean, we're three movies in now, so it's a long time coming 🤷

there’s always been a sad dichotomy between computer science - the formal discipline - and computer science - the exciting thing that lets us make cool stuff and improve the world

tests, documentation, proper agile coding - this is all well and good but don’t forget the “why”.

learning to code is about more than checkboxes and procedures. learning to code is about creating something, making mistakes, getting messy.

i hate most modern comp sci curriculums bc i feel like the fun has been lost

@froyo255 like, even when I try it with the relatively few non-problematic folks I had in my life, it doesn't really go anywhere and is just really awkward 😅

once in a great while I'll think about trying to reconnect with some of the folks from my past

generally, almost immediately afterwards, I'll remember why they were left in the past and immediately banish the thought 🤷
