Former pole vaulter Yelena Issinbayeva
She has now ended her active career, but: the two-time Olympic champion and three-time world champion has been a member of the IOC since 2016. In the same year, she traveled with other athletes to Syria to a base of the Russian army.

Russia's war has killed 262 Ukrainian athletes and destroyed 363 sports facilities in Ukraine.
34 countries called on the IOC to continue its ban on Russia/ Belarus, including the 2024 Olympic Games doubting their athlets state as "'neutral' when they are directly funded by their states, considering the strong links and affiliations between athletes and the military."
Let's call the IOC's conditions by their name: Nothing but a fig-leaf!
