I am here for a reason and I am finally able to feel free to write more stuff again. This is not working, when I have to be afraid that every toot could be boosted to birdsite. Nope nope nope
@maunzikation @minx Oh no I just discovered that your boosts go to birbsite as well. So you actually distribute other peoples toots over there. It doesn't feel so good without asking ...
I know it's public and all that... maybe I only can toot private then.
@maunzikation you could make a bot that sends a tweet every time you post something mastodon that says: "I just wrote something very interesting on Mastodon" 🤖
It's kind of like people on birdsite tweeting facebook links all the time. You can do that but I might not follow you then.
@minx I find just the RTs annoying, all the birdsite links and handles, not crossposts in general.
I have no problem to read bridsite - masto crossposts. Except all the birdsite retweets... They are spamming the TL and you can't turn them off like directly on birdsite.
Would be cool to maybe automatically use the CW feature for RTs but I'm not sure. Maybe completely turn off RTs in the crossposter tools, that would be nice.
@maunzikation I would never use a crossposter ^^ It's just 2 completely different worlds and sets of people and uuuh, nope. I'm not half as comfortable posting things on birdsite ...

I guess, too, if you want this shirt, you can sign up to get Cotton Bureau to do another printing: https://cottonbureau.com/products/let-trans-women-live
Profits go to Trans Lifeline.
@distelfliege lecker :D Ich hatte Kartoffel-Gemüse-Puffer
There seems to be an DIY open source #BCI (brain computer interface) scene.
Oh and the read/write speed is apparently doubling every 15 months (Moore's law?).
We should be at approximately 128 bits/min now
@a_breakin_glass They didn't say. Just that today you can control a driving car directly via brain-interface.
They predicted that in 25 years we will be able to communicate (like texting or with text-to-speech) just by thinking it.
I don't know where this leaves us in terms of I/O speed today 👾
Reading from and writing to the human brain directly, like with a hard disk. In 2012 the reading speed was about 8 bits/minute.
Idea for a new hobby:
Collecting network packet capture (pcap) traces from interesting/"fun" network environments. :3
In the same way other people collect stamps or whatever.
"Look at this weird setup with multiple DHCP servers!"
"I've got one where the timings are totally off!"
... you could also trade them if you're comfortable. :D
If you've never made a packet capture trace before, here's how you can get started using Wireshark: https://www.howtogeek.com/104278/how-to-use-wireshark-to-capture-filter-and-inspect-packets/

@natanji@octodon.social We were talking about needing this possibility (boost with CW) half a year ago but it seems like nothing happened since then.
oh and tea, please! very queer and autistic. disability. fibre. they-pronouns.
not much tech-related tooting but feelings and everything.
I like tea but: http://ko-fi.com/A674QB4
