Genshin Impact is a mostly single-player game with optional 4-player co-op support, supposedly monetized via loot boxes.
However, their EULA states that:
- The game will install a kernel level anti-cheat and include a ring 0 driver.
- Mihoyo (the game company) reserves the right to monitor your computer when *the game is not running*.
They also actively work to block playing the game on virtual machines and other forms of process isolation.
I'm getting the feeling that this is less about loot box sales and more about extreme data mining.

This is the very last night for Ys Origin, latter half of the third story. I don't know how the final conclusion is going to play out yet, but we're approaching what sounds like a different conclusion from the others.
