in the au, it goes more like:

trans woman?
"well, that wasn't it"
and lands on genderqueer

for wraith they were declared a 3rd gender at birth due to being intersex, and stuck around there until they forgot what gender was and have been genderless ever since. in the au they've got the messy experience that intersex people tend to face as a kid, and pretty much as soon as they figure out they have the option to be agender they jump to that and never leave
