bad times

The heating has been out at my apartment for a few days. I can just hang out elsewhere during the day, but it makes sleeping difficult. I don't handle the cold very well. It should be fixed by Wednesday

@rambly@mastodon.social Good luck! I know all too well how hard it is to reach that decision

(at shiny new video game; really good, expensive, mostly unplayed) Wow, it would be nice to play you some day
(at terrible old video game; garbage, 100% free, completed many times over) One more playthrough couldn't hurt

CW death

I just found out that one of my friends, a young trans woman, passed away last week. I don't know the circumstances of her death, but I know she struggled a lot. I briefly let her stay at my place while she was homeless. When she left, I thought things were looking up for her. She was a very kind and sweet person, and losing her is a shock and a tragedy

The heater in my apartment isn't working, so I'm just sitting at my computer in full winter clothes

@Xkeeper @BatElite Yeah, that slide has a very tiny footnote explaining it. It's easier to read in the report cited at the end. You should check it out if you want more details

@Xkeeper @BatElite No. There's a footnote on one of the slides about how some trans characters are counted as straight

Since people were interested, here are the slides from tonight's meeting. They're a little plain without the accompanying discussion, but I hope people find them interesting: drive.google.com/open?id=1MnG7

Since there's some interest, I'll be linking to the slides here some time after the presentation is done

@Xkeeper It's a powerpoint that focuses on representation in mainstream media. I'm the vice president of the local LGBTQ club at my university, so I and the other officers will be presenting it there

I'm doing a presentation on LGBTQ+ representation in media tonight

It's difficult for me to get into the habit of making art on a regular basis again
