Minecraft theorists: the heaviest item steve can carry is a "notch apple" because the old crafting recipe is an apple and 8 gold blocks.

Me, smarter: The hottest item steve can hold is a chainmail chestplate because in old versions of the game you need 8 fire to craft it. Also a stair block weighs 1.5 blocks because you need 6 blocks to make 4 stairs. Also pumpkins have magical powers.

Btw what do people call notch apples now adays? Are they even still in the game?

theyr'e now called Enchanted Golden Apples, and they can stack up to 64 times, like regular apples.

HOWEVER

you no longer can craft them at all. They're randomly found in chests in dungeons sometimes though. Rarely.

Also they have an entirely new icon and holo-effect on them

@Ivafakename (seriously no matter what I do every time I try to load the Java version so I can play mods, OR EVEN JUST VANILLA, it does this. no matter the java version, no matter if I use x64 or x86 versions, no matter what settings I use, or if I use optifine or whatever fuckin' else to try and optimise it, no matter if I set more ram usable by java, it's fuckin haunted I Swear)

@Nine ajdjslkdks I used to play 1.7.10 with mods on my xp laptop and it ran at like 5 fps.

@Ivafakename lol I think the last time I could actually run Minecraft, with or without mods, was before I got an i7 processor, and I think I was using like... an old AMD AM2+ processor or something? I forget, it's been over a decade I think
