@revenant ...oh goddammit that fucking meme. I'd forgotten it existed

@pixelguff (also much appreciation for the spectrum style font and background and everything i love it)

today on Ren News

this reality's continuing story: PCs are a fuck

uh. hm. maybe it's neither. because now both are working again... ... granted I did switch the HDMI (in monitor 1) to DVI cable for just a straight DVI to DVI cable... and now it's working. bloody heck I didn't want to deal with pc crap today but here I am I guess aaaaa. at least it's working again now

oh fuck. i'm a dingus.

the primary monitor is actually connected with DVI (at pc) to HDMI (at monitor)... meanwhile the secondary monitor WAS connected via DVI (at monitor) to HDMI, connected to an HDMI to Mini-HDMI converter at the PC. I've just tested the DVI to HDMI and it works just fine... meaning either the Mini-HDMI converter plug is broken...

...or the port on my graphics card is -_-;;

geforce why are you installing the 3d vision driver i told you not to install what

I mean probably not but I definitely wouldn't put it past it trying to be "helpful".

at least on my Surface it's got an excu-...

...

oh bloody hell windows better not have tried "importing my settings" from the surface to my desktop -_-

ahafuasoghasfhaf winamp is off the side of my screeen afuhaaagfhhghhhh

having only one monitor is torture ehughhghh

i am a couple versions behind with the gtx drivers so I hope this fixes it and it's only not working because windows maybe got an update and went "LOL NOPE WHAT'S A SECOND MONITOR AGAIN HAHAHA" and the drivers went "yo I'm right here" but Windows forgot how to talk to that particular bit of the drivers for some reason because it uses an older standard?? I dunno. Sometimes I think windows is like a pokemon, it only knows four moves at a time and forgets some to make way for new ones.

this is after a reboot as well because always try a reboot first. it didn't help.
windows literally doesn't detect the second monitor. it only wants to detect one (and being iwndows it just says they're generic pnp monitors. ugh. I'm SURE I had drivers for them. Geforce's settings say it's a real monitor... bloody hell)

oh goddammit windows 10 is suddenly not detecting my second monitor.

and I know it's not the monitors, and I'm pretty sure it's not the graphics card. because my primary monitor worked (via HDMI to miniHDMI), but not my secondary one (DVI to DVI), but the secondary one (via HDMI to HDMI) worked just fine with my Rpi3b.

So I tested a different DVI-DVI cable. Plugged it in, worked!... but then my primary monitor turned off and won't turn on. fucksake. Trying new drivers for the gtx970.

@sara
Aw no! I heard there was some kind of bug with one mission, and there's a work around for it but I dunno if that's a save corrupting one :(
