FONV: GOING TO SPACE EDITION (FONV Quest Mod Reviews 3)
Oh dang why didn't i enable dev commentary on this mod sooner? Jokerine has really clearly put a LOT of love and work into this mod, it's absolutely stellar....
...okay that pun was entirely unintentional but I'm leaving it in there lol.
Sure, it's buggy as fuck, but, c'mon, it's the Gamebryo engine that's just the default, really, and the fact that this mod does SO MUCH unique stuff, it's a wonder it doesn't regularly CTD.
@Pulsaare RIGHT?! It blows my friggin mind that we have graphics cards now which do this ON CHIP as well, like, they have dedicated chipsets purely to do on the fly, real time raytracing that nearly four decades ago would take literally days to do ONE SCENE.
@Pulsaare (that's not hyperbole either we literally set it running one night after I was home from school to see what happened, and we thought the damn thing had crashed, because all we saw was a black screen for several moments. then we saw pixels starting to appear... veeery slowly. We left it going all night. It was... halfway done when we woke up. by the time my little brother and I got back from school it apparently STILL hadn't finished, and my dad decided to just hard-reset the pc lol)
@Pulsaare god i remember when POVray was on like some old floppy disc on the cover of a PC magazine back in like 91 or something and my dad tried it on his brand spanking new intel 486-DX running at a blistering 100mhz (allegedly, until the motherboard crapped out and decided it wouldn't even boot unless we downclocked it to 75mhz), and rendering the simple example scene of three reflective, translucent spheres on an infinite checkerboard floor took like... a day and a half to render.
@Pulsaare "mooom, how do we make this raytracer??" "Just follow the instructions, it's easy!"
The instructions: http://www.ms.uky.edu/~lee/visual05/povray/shapes.pov
@enbyss@hellsite.site @internetwolf friends, friends...
rocks: good friembs. lots of types and colours and feels and weights and shapes and some are fine the way they are some would look even more rad with a cool decoration
sand: like, just... millions of little tiny minature rocks!!! get urself a microscope, lookit them tiny friembs!! they're all so cool and pretty too, just tiny! and you can sleep on a bed of them nicely! They just a li'l clingy cause they're v. friembly
hmmm... there is one thing I miss from Fallout 3
The number stations that are dotted around were pretty friggin cool. Like, I wish FONV had that. More importantly there was this Creepypasta about GNR where it would turn into a weird creepy clairvoyant numbers station if ThreeDog was killed or something, and I knew it was a fake story but I liked it nonetheless.
just... needs to be more numbers station stuff, that stuff's fun.
Digital Foundry reviews the PS Digital which adds a fully digital HDMI output to the PSX. I'm so happy about how much love the PSX is getting lately

@LANthus really, Promenade Pugilists isn't that bad a title for a Dapper themed SF clone.
@Chickiepup also also britain: "actually more landlords and monarchs sounds really great actually let's have more of those and less of that what was it now demo casey or whatever it was, less of that thing, more monarchs and landlords"
