Both pictures are of the river beside our garden, taken low to the ground and from the garden itself, on the grassy bank. There are seven white pekin cross ducks, one of which is male and larger, and one melanistic, male pekin cross duck.

The six smaller white and off-white ducks are also pekin crosses, but all girls. One picture shows all eight wandering about in procession, the other is them heading to the water.

So, Dusty, the duck who we think might have been half wild mallard given his colouration, was too nervous despite two weeks of careful care and feeding, and was making Yin and Yang stressed and nervous too, so they were fighting a fair bit.

Also turns out all three were male ducks. We gave him to a duck rescue place, though also picked up some young females in his place. Meet the girls! (Picture Description in replies)

@jk gosh i love seeing rosehips. I know you can't eat them unless you're like... a bird... or something... but gosh they are good berries and very nice to look at.
