I mean I can sorta see Plusle and Minun, and Dedenne, but Emolga's a flying squirrel c'mon just cause it's got the same eyes and wide smile as Pikachu and i guess the cheek pouches thing... huh...

@pupy@chitter.xyz @monorail @lugh There's actually a non-official term of "Pikachu Family Pokemon" in that the members of it that people class as such all have similar defining traits:

Must be electric type in main capacity
Must be rodent of some kind
Must have cheekpouches or other similarities to pikachu.

That's basically it. Predictably the entire pikachu evo chain is there, of course, as is Alolan Raichu, and Plusle and Minun, and Dedenne, but weirdly they ALSO put pachirisu, emolga and Togedemaru in

I dunno, an offshoot species I guess?? def related one way or another I'm sure, like the other electric mouse they made that's like... pikachu. but raichu colooured... and smol/round. also spikier.
