@medwinter@mastodon.social fair enough! if it's any consolation, the Switch version removes Mingle PP entirely so instead, pins only evolve from shutdown PP and Battle PP. Tin Pin PP counts as battle PP, and if a Pin already has an evolution route for shutdown PP, the Mingle PP route uses Battle PP. if it doesn't, it uses Shutdown PP instead.

If it already has both tho, you gotta... I dunno, balance both shutdown AND battle PP apparently. but that's rare mercifully ._.;

TWEWY Spoilers 3

See how good he is without his fuckin illegal pin modding now, little punk...

....also weird that the player who won and their partner in the Reaper's Game were two NPCs you and Shiki saw talking to another NPC as you helped him do stuff behind the scenes in the middle of a mission, and they were ALIVE as of that point...

...so it seems, just two days after that event, that pair of NPCs DIED and are now playing too. whaaaat the fugggg.

TWEWY Spoilers 2

As a result, Joshua, your partner, has the ORIGINAL pins that were in said living kid's digidexacord whatever thing.

There are two. One of them is one for beginner Tin Pin Slammer players. The other is a pin that says in its desription, "has been modified for better performance. Pins like this are illegal in official tournament play".

...Which is what you just tried to take part in.

Little shit was fucking cheating the whole time!

TWEWY Spoilers

So, You fail of course, in a cutscene, rather than playing it, even if you beat him in the tutorial match, but this is so the rest of the mission can play out. Your partner did some trickery, and sabotaged said living kid's "digivice/deck holder/card game motorcycle/beyblade ripcord thing" so he'd lose against one of the other players who is in the Reaper's Game (and thus dead) so the mission gets passed regardless.

oh fuck that reminds me

in TWEWY one of th eearly missions involves you getting involved in Tin Pin Slammer and trying to win the top prize.

One of the top players of it is a little kid called "Shuto", AKA "Shooter". Who is every bit the Yugioh-Digimon-pokemon Protagonist character in design and everything.
