what REALLY fucked me up though... was seeing the shooting target as your reflection in the glass, and mirrors all the time...

and then getting a tape that talked about how the US military switched to such targets to try and stop soldiers from NOT firing at targets in real world scenarios... ending with the line "eventually you learn to stop seeing people at all, instead seeing targets... even in the mirror."

The encrypted part in the "Hacker life for3ver" message says "Shoot the Tapes. You are being lied to. Your life is a lie. All of this is a lie. The Reicevers are Deceivers. The enemy is not your enemy. We are the enemy." That's... a slight paraphrase, but all the key points are there, and yes that last line is... cryptic and weird.

@owashii@snouts.online Well, when you do find that particular message, I can let you know that the encoded bit is in the Vigeneré cypher, and the keyword you'll need to decypher it is PRETTY close to the word "Receivers", but not quite. Another message from a guy named Henry that I found shortly after will give a hint :)

@owashii@snouts.online okay shit, there ARE hover drones. but because of how rare killdrones of various types ARE in this game, I think it's less of a problem. The game is definitely harder, but... way more fun. even the hover drones are more interesting to fight this time!

@owashii@snouts.online Wolfire Games deserved my money for how much I played Receiver 1 when it was free on Humble Bundle years ago. I literally have over 100 hours playtime on Receiver, and that IS play time not just running idle in the background. 90% of that is vanilla too, without mods.

So yeah, I just straight up bought Receiver 2 just now XD
