So, here's the thing: sometimes, as a white person, I'll see a post written by someone who is non-white that comes directly for me. Not in a targeted "I am calling out this specific person" way, but in a "They are talking about patterns of behaviour that describe my own actions" way. And that sucks! I get this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach because I see that this person is talking about me!
You know what I do with that feeling?
I accept it. Yes. They're talking about me. What can I do about that? What are immediate actions I can take to fix this problem? Do I need to apologize to anyone? Are there voices I can boost talking about this issue?
You know what I DON'T do with that feeling?
Hop into the person's menchies and start making a fuss.
I'm not gonna say "It's not hard, people!" because it is. It's hard work. But it's worth it.

the robot shakes their head, then looks up at her slightly, a slight colouration flushing the display on their face. "...I was... thinking about going with Eliza?..." They reply softly. The therapist smiles slightly and nods, sitting back.
"How did that feel?"
The robot hangs their head again, trembling slightly before a glitchy - as if through choked sobs - but rapturously happy voice sounds out "Interface found..."

The councellor nods gently, steeples her chapped and slightly scorched fingers as she considers this, glancing over at a nearby screwdriver and diagnostic toolset, before looking back to her patient.
"...Did you think about what we talked about before?"
"... ..."
"It's alright, if you didn't have the processor cycles to do it, that's not an error, it can be hard..."

mostly I'm just thinking about this because I got a random mental image of a robot on a couch talking about how they've been having kernel panic errors showing up a lot when out in public, and how their frame feels wrong somehow, and the councellor raises an eyebrow slightly at one point
"wrong as in... wrong wiring?"
"more like... wrong build. wrong metal??... like trying to interface with something that isn't there."

and like, they talk about it, and at the end the therapist can offer code injection (analagous to medication) to patch the issue if it's a hard coded problem that's cropped up, or if it's a hardware fault that can't otherwise easily be dealt with, or "workarounds" can be offered, (like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for robots, where they self-code a way around it themselves with tools learned/given) or a combination of them.

like, a therapy session between a robot and her councellor/maintenance official. The councellor COULD just open her up and reprogram her to "fix" her, but you gotta diagnose first, and in the interests of consent, boundaries, and treating her with respect, as well as getting a more accurate picture of what's ACTUALLY wrong rather than what the state/gov't/non robots THINK is "wrong", they talk it out, discuss "glitches" and such.
a cool thing about donating to bail funds btw: that money isn't one-and-done. unless someone actually doesn't report to court, which almost never happens, that money is returned to the bail fund to be used once again. donating $50 to a bail fund *permanently* gives them an additional $50 to use again and again as that money gets returned to them.
the bigger the pool of money a bail fund has, the more people it can help at once, since ofc your $50 cannot be used to post bail for multiple people at one time.

Though truth told I only actually first played this with Ninja Gaiden Trilogy on SNES Emulations. Brutally hard game, but that track stuck with me since then. Snes version doesn't add much more tbqh, but still good.
