bbc music article

@heyheather@snouts.online The bitter irony that conservatives blithely barrel through in their attempts to convince themselves and others that they are the superior galaxy brains is completely lost on them, sadly.

bbc music article

@heyheather@snouts.online Because such publications are almost invariably classist right-wing leaning (or wholly right-wing) rags which pander to the comfort of their predominantly well off or at least middle class, white conservative knob-ends, and god forbid they force them to think about anybody but themselves or to consider opinions other than their own for even a microsecond.

@heyheather@snouts.online I ended up scrolling through oing "WHO THE FUCK WROTE THIS BULLFUCKERY I WANT FUCKING NAMES" and wouldn't you know it whoever did it was too fucking ashamed to put their name to it or something lol

@cozykaffe@snouts.online [Extremely Otakon Voice] It's a character flaw!

@heyheather@snouts.online I tried reading through that but I was just a couple sentences in before my eyes rolled out of my skull, across the floor, got on a plane, flew somewhere across the other side of the world, checked into a hotel there, left the hotel without any of their belongings but the clothes on their back and minimal hard cash, took public transport to as far away as possible, then walked until they were miles from anywhere, and just lay there groaning at the boomer bullshit they had to read.

Kittens have personality from a very young age.

The black one is much more curious about Javert, and while it hissed at her when she was too close it keeps wanting to get close to her.

The other one has so far decided that the dog is to be avoided.

The black one seeks out pets and purrs a lot, the other one has a much more 'yes, you are petting me, as you should' attitude

Anyway, we rescued the black and the white one, but the tawny one is... really wary of us now.

Still, we set them up temporarily in our old wooden shed, with some hay, and got some proper duck food in for them, and... They're really settling in nicely!

Check it out :D

If you're still here after this point, and haven't started screaming "SHUT THE FUCK UP REN JUST GIVE ME THE FUCKING DUCK PICS ALREADY" then congratulations. Patience is a virtue. or something, i guess.

...duck pics later, not done talking.

Anyway, SO, we managed to catch and put into a carrier TWO of the ducks, but the third got away from us, and despite two weeks of TRYING, this little siht got away every time. Gonna try one more time tho.

Turns out, according to a neighbour who works with wildlife rehabilitation, farm ducks are often dumped around this area when they're no longer laying eggs, so these poor buggers were just... left to fend forthemselves. when winter is approaching, without their flight feathers having grown back in, and having been raised around humans their whole lives until this point :/

So rather than let them die from neglect, we set about trying to rehome them

So anyway, since these three ducks hung out together, and were like, twice the size of REGULAR ducks, had clipped wings, AND were.... kinda friendly towards people? Or at least happily approached for food and such and mainly stayed on the banks, we figured they were farm ducks, who had just wandered by one day and just decided to keep coming back for free snacks...

Sadly, didn't seem to be the case.

About a week or two ago, we noticed some NEW arrivals to said pond. ALSO ducks, just... really friggin big. One white apart from their orange beak, one slightly larger, and black, with irridescence on their wings (guessing male due to said irridescence), and one which we assumed was the child because it was like... tawny/black and white? I think? Looked like a cross between the two anyway.
