...oh right it's october.

the spooky season

the malevolent month

the spine-tingling time.

...
...fuck i can never think of a good spooky display name and I still really like the one I have now because goddamn if I ever stop adoring Gunstar Heroes you will know I am the Imposter.

@noiob that is by far the raddest fuckin looking phone i have seen in years what the shit.

@noiob yyYYOOO what the FUCK That thing looks amazing!?!

I...I want?!

@plsburydoughboy it's literally in their constitution too god it's like nobody ever reads the damn thing.

@ticky I bet that image looked even more mindblowing on a CRT too, god. D: masteful usage of dithering to blend colours there, dang.

if you asked me to guess how many colours were in this image I would not believe you when you told me it was *eight*

every boss character should be introduced like Yakuza 0 introduces characters.

what if flipphone

but also smartphone

so smol
cute
rounded

flips
comfy in pocket

but also useful and functional in today's society and apps and whatnot and...

...

fuck I think we'd need some kind of AR/holographic screen that projected out from it to make it usable and still tiny compact. hm.

...

pre-smartphone mobiles had some rad designs tho. I miss that.

@PsyChuan@snouts.online I wish the game still existed and was playable because I just tried to zoom in and isolate what characters were what but because I'm too far away a lot of the chinese characters, because they're so dense, are too blurred to parse what they might be D:

Dang. think thi sis a bit of a fool's errand :<

@PsyChuan@snouts.online I suspect the out-of-universe explaination is that the korean devs didn't want to make it TOO obvious for native players what that said and wanted to keep it mysterious, so typed something out, translated what they could into random segments of japanese and chinese characters, dotted in some english words here and there, and I guess left some korean in there too.

I'm just getting more curious what it says tho XD

@joshua yeah, looking at this, there's also hangul and kanji in there dotted around. :o

@PsyChuan@snouts.online yeah! There's definitely at least a couple of characters of hangul in there, along with some kanji (the japanese character for fire pops up kinda regularly), and definitely some chinese hànzì in there too!

Which means that the board is likely covered in garbage nonsense or a repeating series of "word salad", like a computer glitching out or something, but getting across some kind of message. That would be v. thematic

@PsyChuan@snouts.online wait yeah looking at it, there seems to be a mix of korean, chinese and japanese characters in there. wtf.

Going through a lot of old screenshots on Steam for some reason and discovered this from when I last played NMS and...

...fuck. lol...

@PsyChuan@snouts.online Ah yeah, Nexon published it, and it was a south korean company who made the game itself, so... *shruuug!*

@PsyChuan@snouts.online mmnh... maybe... It's kinda a mix I think. I can't remember which company made the game but... I think Nexon might have been involved.
