"Two [unnamed] internet providers are tracking and collecting the websites visited by their customers as part of a secretive Home Office trial, designed to work out if a national bulk surveillance system would be useful for national security and law enforcement."

"The National Crime Agency confirmed it was working with the government on the trial.

“We are supporting the Home Office-sponsored trial of internet connection record capability to determine the technical, operational, legal and policy considerations associated with delivery of this capability,” the police agency said."

"Of the UK’s major internet providers only Vodafone confirmed that it has not been involved in any trials that involve storing people’s internet data. Spokespeople for BT, Virgin Media and Sky refused to comment on any measures around the Investigatory Powers Act. Mobile network operator Three did not respond to a request for comment. Smaller internet service providers say that they have not been included in any trials."

re: dubious information about the uk

@jk when we're challenging each other to chess matches we say "fancy a cuppa chess?"
and if receptive the other player will say "milk and two please, luv" and then they'll perform an elaborate chessing ritual which lasts anywhere up to five hours long.

Once it is complete, the winner roosts upon the chess pieces they have captured and stays with them until they hatch.

...oh okay ... uh... NMS just gonna... shut itself down now I'm finally back at my pc and can play it.

...guess it didn't like being left running while I was out ._.;
