Last night at like, 2 AM I tweaked this, then tweaked that tweak and now it looks like this
I'm not a stamps person but royal mail are doing a special issue of stamps featuring british video games
Included are Elite, Dizzy, Populous, Lemmings, Micro Machines, Sensible Soccer, Wipeout, and Worms
And there's a Tomb Raider mini set as well
dog with a job. dog working a 9-5. dog waking up groggy every morning and sleeping in til 8am at weekends. dog feeling worn down by toiling under capitalism day in, day out. dog leaving the house with a flask of decent coffee and coming home to a doormat littered with bills. dog with bad posture from their dull desk job. dog who always pays their rent on time and winces when they do it. dog tired
One of my side-projects is an alternative #FDroid client resurrecting the classic UI from before the 1.0 release.
Here's the list of things still to be fixed before an initial release: https://gitlab.com/Bubu/fdroidclassic/issues/1
One of the missing pieces is a proper icon which should resemble a retro/lo-fi version of the F-Droid robot. Anyone up for giving this a go?
I'm not a designer, so if nobody steps up the icon will be replaced by programmer art before release :D.

people were talking about the millennium bug recently, well it turns out a lot of the fixes just delayed the problem to 2020
"Programmers wanting to avoid the Y2K bug had two broad options: entirely rewrite their code, or adopt a quick fix called “windowing”, which would treat all dates from 00 to 20, as from the 2000s, rather than the 1900s. An estimated 80 per cent of computers fixed in 1999 used the quicker, cheaper option."
"Those systems that used the quick fix have now reached the end of that window, and have rolled back to 1920. Utility company bills have reportedly been produced with the erroneous date 1920, while tens of thousands of parking meters in New York City have declined credit card transactions because of the date glitch."
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
This is the ideal male body. You may not like it,
but this is what peak performance looks like”
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
