"The wealthiest western nations have wiped their hands clean of any responsibility to slow a pandemic they helped magnify and spread. Rich countries with 14% of the world’s population have secured 53% of the best vaccines. Almost all of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines will go to rich countries. The Moderna vaccine will go to rich countries exclusively; they are not even being offered to the poor. In fact, nine out of 10 people in poor countries may never be vaccinated at all."
It takes elite liberal skills to justify this.

This is a long shot, but I want to put the power of social media and federation to the test.
My son wants to become a commercial airline pilot when he’s grown up. It would be awesome if we could find a commercial pilot in the fediverse that we can follow and ask questions of.
If everyone who reads this could boost it, it would be much appreciated and it would mean the world to my son if he could get in touch with a real-life commercial pilot! ✈️
looking for software development work
Hey, I am looking for software developer work. I am familiar with C, C++, Java, and many other languages, but I learn quickly, and can probably learn the language you use.
I'm fairly experienced in modeling relational databases, working with Qt, Sqlite, Postgres, and SQL Server, SDL, and SFML. My specialty is Linux but I can target just about any POSIX-compliant platform, or Windows, and I aim to write portable code.
I've worked on Plume, a Fediverse blogging platform, Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, a roguelike game, sqlite_modern_cpp(a c++ abstraction wrapper for sqlite), MuaLu(A lua based muck engine), and more.
I've dabbled in assembly and lower level coding, and would not be adverse to picking it up to work.
I am based in the US, specifically Tulsa.
I am available for contract work or remote work, though I am currently caring for someone who is disabled so I have to be remote, or at least have minimal office days.
You can get in touch with me via DM or through email through VioletWhite@espeon.social
Alcohol ment. Finally done.
I guess I could be wrong though.
I guess they might well have cracked the holy grail of chemistry and managed to make a drink with all the disgusting parts of cheap shitty lager, with none of the alcohol at all, and twice the price.
Alcohol and inebriation mention, also a bodily function mention
Because, as far as I know, ALL "alcohol free" beers and lagers and so on STILL contain at least A TINY percentage of alcohol in them, but usually no more that 0.05% or some such, which makes them LEGALLY "alcohol free" as you would have to drink an absolutely ungodly amount to even get a buzz before you passed most of it as urine.
Alcohol mention
Now, I know, thanks to many years existing in human society, that this is supposed to mean that it is alcohol free, and contains 0% alcohol, or near as physically possible.
.... But still, the part of my brain that isn't totally brainwashed by human society recognises that it ACTUALLY says that it is 0% free of alcohol.
I find myself wondering if this is either something someone just didn't ever think of, or that this is the only LEGAL way to say "alcohol free".
Alcohol mention
So just noticed something. We've got a pack of alcohol free beer in our back fridge.
Not for us though, nobody here drinks beer. This is for visitors who want all the taste of a beer, but none of the inebriation, which, I know, doesn't make sense to me either because beer tastes foul, especially lager beers which is what these are. Idgi.
BUT. What grabbed my attention was the label, proudly, boldly even, proclaiming
0%
Alcohol free.
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
