Sooo, I go exploring, shooting badguys with my magic sword, big ol' wings on my helmet that look like bunny ears even though they aren't, jumping platforms (this is a top down 8-way shooter btw, pretty neat), come across an oni beating up some girl that's tied up, quick boss battle, kick his ass, find the girl who got kicked aside before the fight, free her and she's leading me somewhere. So far, pretty fun!

well this PCE game Valkyrie no Dentetsu or something is off to a good start. The protagonist is talking with some kinda goddess on a cloud, I'm guessing she tells the MC to go sort out some problem on the planet, so the heroine turns, walks off the cloud, and ... plummets. hahah

okay Space Fantasy Zone on the PCECD is ...

yeah it's Space Harrier with a Fantazy Zone skin and a shop at the end of the levels. Even the music is just the first bit of Space Harrier's main theme and THEN the fantasy zone bit XD

*dies in the second level right as everything goes to heck after getting the wallcrawler powerup, despite clearing level 1 without any issues whatsoever and beating the boss in the time honoured fashion of chucking a full powered Force into its chestmouth and then just hammering the firebutton as fast as possible*

Okaaaay R-Type Complete CD time. cannot understand a word of the japanese story segments sadly but I know basically the entire plotline of the RType series, more or less (the tactical games notwithstanding).

okay yeah this isn't the emulator this is the pad itself. something is making it disconnect. dangit.

dang despite the 8bit audio of the PCE/TG16, the video is full 16 bit and looks lovely.

oh dangit the pad keeps disconnecting mid play what is going on.

when I say a little while I literally mean no button press for like... ten seconds c_c;

oh dang everything works great. there's a little weirdness with the pad occasionalyl when I leave it a little while... wonder if that's the battery being wonky

like, seems to be that instead of just bein out on a picnic with your lover like on the nes and spectrum versions, and she gets kidnapped, like, the kingdom is just full on under attack like lasers flying down from the sky and the princess is running towards arthy boy past a whole bunch of bodies of her people and she gets lazered and so does Arty's horse and he falls off and he swears revenge I guess. preeety sure the princess is dead.

actually time to just go through all the games and see which are good. this Coryoon game looks cute as heck? like, you're a tiny cute li'l dragon and there's this princess who you love I guess? but then a wizard shows up and like, shrinks her down to chibi size so you go to kick ass. and it's a nice horizontal scroller shootemup
