so I tried out that Folding@Home thing because hey why not, maybe it'll help medical science a little.

...turns out it doesn't connect at all. So I look for help as to why to try and get it to work, they suggest uninstalling then reinstalling! Great!

So I go to uninstall it after closing down the client... it... says that the client is still open. It's not. It really isn't. Even task manager says so. Welp. can't uninstall fully, it leaves a file on there.

Now, some oddities. fast.com says my unloaded latency is like, a nice lovely 18ms, and loaded is a respectable 180ms.

Ookla's speedtest.net on the other hand says my ping is is anywhere from 700 to 890ms. which is...

...not good.

...Something's weird here. Either way tho. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO INTERNETS.

I decided to test it just now and uh...

Remember how yesterday I said my download speed topped out about 3.9 Mbps?

Reaching 19Mbps today. Goshhecko. That's not even a "slowly ramping up to that", it's just "BAM HERE WE GO MAX SPEED TIME TO PUT ON EUROBEAT AS WE SURF ONLINE TOKYO DRIFT"

Regarding internet speeeebs

right now? currently hitting something like 3.9 Mbps, tops.

gonna test it tomorrow see if it's any better.

ooo apparently the local relay just got upgraded to fibre optic. Goes online tomorrow, so we miiiight see a massive boost to interbutts.

I'm honestly kinda tempted to break it out and play through it again....

I remember when I first played the game and the fucking intro reduced me to an inconsolable mess. Despite the issues the game had at points with design, I was thoroughly engaged with it. I loved it from start to finish...

The ending rolled and it just fucking wrecked me again. I was sobbing my eyes out continually through the credits... and then there was this last little thing at the end of the credits roll, and WHAM, another rush of emotions.

Just... what a beautiful game it was ;; <3
