I head out to IndyFurCon today! I've been looking forward to this all year and I'm going to try to make the most of it.

@NovaSquirrel oh hey I'm in the indy area?? hi
if you're local maybe we should meet up for lunch or board games sometime

@atinyfairy I'm unfortunately not local but I sort of wish I were because it seems like the community is a lot more active down here. I'm actually from Fort Wayne.

@NovaSquirrel Ah, I'm in the opposite direction then (I'm down in Bloomington)
I have a partner in Detroit and another in London Ontario so I drive through Fort Wayne like once a month, but, eh. Maybe we can meet up at a con sometime tho? it's still cool to see a fellow hoosier on somewhere as queer as computerfairies of all places, hehe

@atinyfairy I'd definitely love to meet more people who go to cons, especially nearby ones. It really seems like the experience is a lot better when you've got friends to spend it with.

Honestly I'm just hoping to make lots more friends in general, online or offline.

@NovaSquirrel I would love to be your friend! I know a few other people in nesdev and adjacent communities, although the closest I've gotten to doing that stuff is making silly songs in famitracker
As far as cons, I go to Gencon in Indy every year, and I've been to Acen, Anime North, and Youmacon before, which are all vaguely close to you… I'm not part of the furry community but there's a lot of overlap with animanga fandom and tabletop games fandom so I do know a bunch of furries at least

@atinyfairy I don't know if I'd go to an anime convention since I'm not very involved with it aside from watching it with my mate. And yeah, I assume most of the NES people out there already got themselves into the NESDev or NintendoAge circles, so I don't expect to find too many people who haven't.

Honestly furries are basically everywhere so meeting them is kind of inevitable. :p
