@claude Oh good! I was hoping someone was doing something like that, at least for the first year.

Now that copyrights on things are actually expiring I wonder if it would make sense to have a yearly creativity jam of some sort where people actually do cool things with the things that are becoming public domain each year.

I'm gonna look through bukkit server plugins and see what sort of stuff I would like to have if I were to have a vanilla Minecraft thing.

@wolfcoder @Chel Yeah I need to invite people onto mine again. I will treasure the first Tilemap Town map though.

@Chel My best memories in Minecraft were the years where over a month in summer vacation (or whenever) me and other people just got together to play together and just make a city together, making our bases close to each other and making decorations and other things to really make it a nice place.

@wolfcoder and if people didn't make new emulators because there were already so many, we wouldn't have the very amazing Mesen.

I don't read it as "don't do this" at all though, just some gentle advice you're free to ignore.

SpinDizzy has felt pretty unfriendly for the past while for people who don't care about sci-fi and I don't know what to do about that. Going to another room just means you're all alone because people will just go where all the people are.

I miss playing Minecraft with people and working on building towns and houses.

Specifically there's stuff like telling me not to do something, turning around and doing it, and claiming it's ok for them to because they're convinced very cautious but I'm not

I don't know when but eventually free rent is going to be outweighted by the people I have to live with in order to have it. Very bossy, awful people who treat themselves and each other as infallible and me as someone incompetent who shouldn't be trusted, completely ignoring any of their own mistakes or just assuming I'm at fault for something.

@maxine Threading is one of the many things that SDL2 gives you in a convenient cross-platform API. I would be surprised if other cross-platform multimedia libraries didn't do the same.

It could be really interesting to write a script to crawl through all your tracker music and identify which songs share which samples. It sorta feels like people just share samples around or use common samples, and it's be very interesting to see data on that.

@Chel The only thing that felt a little odd for me was holding L or R to place/mine a block above or below but that made sense with the top-down thing.

Wonder how long it's going to take for Dragon Quest Builders to work its way into my (no pun intended) worldbuilding. Having a giant hammer be the main way you mine things is very amusing to me.

I'm glad the holiday season is finally wrapping up the rest of the way. I'll get to see my friends again. :p

forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.ph try out a ROM of my Dr. Mario clone I suppose. I already fixed one thing based on feedback so it could be nice to get more or hear weird ideas for gimmicks.

@claude I think with that one I was actually attempting to do music, but if I'm trying to do that I probably should just go all the way, because things like soundcloud.com/novasquirrel/gr where I'm not trying to be weird or funny actually turned out okay

I forget if I shared my really surreal "art" songs here but here are some of them:

t.novasquirrel.com/upload/mp3/
t.novasquirrel.com/upload/mp3/

They're fun to make and I should do that again. It's like, some sort of weird sound adventure all the way through. Just with a lot of bad samples.

Very simple tortilla pizzas are still really wonderful whenever I make them. I think it's the pepperoni and all the seasoning I put on that really make it flavorful.
