@rainwarrior And if you don't like their emulator or would rather play on a flashcart, it seems to download a standard ROM of the game onto your computer.

You can buy a completely legal, DRM free copy of Sonic 3 & Knuckles that you can play any way you want to and keep forever and I think that's important.

Loneliness

This is paired up with not having found a job yet and having recently graduated, so I spend the day mostly alone with my thoughts and they go in unhealthy directions if I can't distract myself, self reflecting on why people must not find me interesting enough to talk to, or telling myself that people who haven't been able to find time for me (but have for other people) don't care about me anymore...

And no one I talk to knows how to help. I guess that's why it's leaking over here.

Loneliness

I've been feeling very lonely for a very long time and most of my friends have slowly gotten too busy or too depressed to spend time together anymore. I've been trying to open myself up to new communities to give myself more social opportunuties but they're either dead or I just get ignored...

I feel like Lego Racers' ideas deserve a better implementation than they got. I haven't played the sequel, but at least in the first game there's no opponent AI and the way you build your car doesn't change anything.

I do know the second game gets rid of the really neat powerup system though. I liked the idea of picking up a base powerup and deciding to use it or wait until you've enhanced it to use it, though I guess if you can just continually warp maybe it's a little broken.

Cooking

I finally bought a non-stick pizza pan and it's just incredibly easier to clean because things don't burn onto the pan, and when you pick up a slice there's never little bits of the slice sticking to the pan. Definitely more than worth the extra few dollars it costs.

Isabelle from Animal Crossing makes me happy. She's so cute!

@maple I think you should give it a try! Your drawings of Maple are good and I'd love to see them cover more of who you are.

@Robinhase built this little house on Tilemap Town while learning how to use my (not great) UI

Shoutout to SQLite for being really good and really small.

My Miuchuz memory explorer revealed that the reverse engineering effort's OTP dump was actually shifted a little bit, so I fixed the shifting and now it actually makes a lot more sense (the values in the vector area look like vectors now). I also worked out the logic behind what external addresses map in what devices.

I love that the program that's been helping answer questions about the handheld still boots up to a drawing of me hehe.

I wrote a program for the Miuchiz handheld to let me type in and read or write arbitrary addresses. Now I can actually start diving into the mystery of how the LCD controller works.

I kinda wanna get this thing understood enough to emulate it for preservation.

Here's one with better contrast, at least. I used the version of my avatar I did for the nesdev forums where I traced over it and used NES colors, so the lines are a lot blacker.

Helped by some existing tools and reverse engineering work, I got my Miuchiz handheld from like 2006 to display my character. The plastic in front of the screen is really bad though. If I can replace that it'd be cool as a little portable 6502 computer.

I'm really looking forward to A Hat in Time's DLC tomorrow and it'll provide a much needed distraction.

Just realized it'd be a really good idea to add a "login with Mastodon" feature to Tilemap Town, so I'll look into figuring out how I should do that. I hope people aren't tired of seeing me tweet about it?

@wolfcoder High five for being another Squirrel user. I've embedded it in a few projects, including my generic level editor thing. It's like a better Lua.

Food

Because I have a friend whose character is both named and designed after dragonfruit and I'd never tried one, I bought one.

They're not unpleasant but there isn't a lot of flavor going on, so that would explain why I usually see it paired with something else flavor-wise.

@claude Nothing wrong with just publicly being a cute kitty on the internet.

It took a day but I updated Tilemap Town to use a real database to store users and maps. I still have a lot of loose ends to tie up and some regressions but it'll be really worth it.
