@rainwarrior And if you don't like their emulator or would rather play on a flashcart, it seems to download a standard ROM of the game onto your computer.
You can buy a completely legal, DRM free copy of Sonic 3 & Knuckles that you can play any way you want to and keep forever and I think that's important.
Loneliness
This is paired up with not having found a job yet and having recently graduated, so I spend the day mostly alone with my thoughts and they go in unhealthy directions if I can't distract myself, self reflecting on why people must not find me interesting enough to talk to, or telling myself that people who haven't been able to find time for me (but have for other people) don't care about me anymore...
And no one I talk to knows how to help. I guess that's why it's leaking over here.
Loneliness
I've been feeling very lonely for a very long time and most of my friends have slowly gotten too busy or too depressed to spend time together anymore. I've been trying to open myself up to new communities to give myself more social opportunuties but they're either dead or I just get ignored...
I feel like Lego Racers' ideas deserve a better implementation than they got. I haven't played the sequel, but at least in the first game there's no opponent AI and the way you build your car doesn't change anything.
I do know the second game gets rid of the really neat powerup system though. I liked the idea of picking up a base powerup and deciding to use it or wait until you've enhanced it to use it, though I guess if you can just continually warp maybe it's a little broken.
@maple I think you should give it a try! Your drawings of Maple are good and I'd love to see them cover more of who you are.
My Miuchuz memory explorer revealed that the reverse engineering effort's OTP dump was actually shifted a little bit, so I fixed the shifting and now it actually makes a lot more sense (the values in the vector area look like vectors now). I also worked out the logic behind what external addresses map in what devices.
I love that the program that's been helping answer questions about the handheld still boots up to a drawing of me hehe.
Here's one with better contrast, at least. I used the version of my avatar I did for the nesdev forums where I traced over it and used NES colors, so the lines are a lot blacker.
@wolfcoder High five for being another Squirrel user. I've embedded it in a few projects, including my generic level editor thing. It's like a better Lua.
@claude Nothing wrong with just publicly being a cute kitty on the internet.
I'm a pretty squirrel princess who dabbles in roleplay, game development, retro game consoles, pixel art, and a variety of computery things.
