What if I do my own take on Kirby Super Star's "Computer Virus" boss?

My mode 7 stuff is a lot more fun now that I have actual tiles being displayed. You can see that I've got a start on implementing a Blue Sphere sort of thing.

Oh hey, rotation! I'm using 32 angles right now and so I have two entire banks dedicated to HDMA tables because currently each angle is a whole 1772 bytes. Worth it for good-looking turning though!

Have my current progress on getting mode 7 perspective stuff working in my SNES game. I'm gonna try and add camera rotation next!

I'd be really interested in finding out what friends intend on going to Midwest FurFest, since I want to go, but being alone would be a dealbreaker. Not sure how to find that out aside from asking everyone individually. I want it to be a replacement for missing out on Anthrocon.

Lost friend (-)

mousebyte broke contact again, except this time by blocking me and deleting our message history rather than deleting her account. I'm worried about her and I hope she's okay. I know she's scared of friendships and getting too close to people, or something, and I hope I left a good impact on her in the months I knew her.

It's really messing me up though because she was a very important friend for me and I'm really sad she's gone. I don't know anyone quite like her.

Due to my platforming prowess, I kicked so much butt at Ultimate Chicken Horse that I was told to set a handicap.

That got me thinking, would a video game character naturally be good at playing video games in the same genre they're from?

There's probably a pretty good correlation for the specific case where you make a character to represent yourself and then you put them in games that use the genre you love, at least.

Look at me rolling down a hill! I think this will be the replacement for sliding down on your butt, and I still need to animate it better and make it affect collisions and things.

I tucked in her head and it looks way better now! And she fits in a smaller space so I can do a lot with this gameplay-wise.

Nova Storm boosted

Shout out to my coworkers for getting together for a little party for fireworks and inviting me. Weekends of big conventions are never pleasant for me, but now for once, due to work, I am not spending them completely alone.

I tried to doodle a rolling animation though I think I failed a little bit because she should probably be rolled up into more of a ball for that. It still looks kinda nice though. The idea was that she could roll down slopes really adorably.

kink mention?

As an ace person, it actually kind of bothers me when I see people joke about completely clean stuff like holding hands as being a very taboo kink, because for me those sorts of things are the tools I've got left for expressing affection, so they're very important to me and I don't appreciate them being a punchline.

But that could also just be me needing to loosen up.

I added climbing and a simple placeholder animation for it. I feel like I need to incorporate more tail movement into the animations in general.

Starting to add some polish with animations and effects and such. Gonna try and implement some particle effects next.

negative, lonely

Starting to get really worried that if communities that fit me well exist, they're likely super dead. I recently joined a Sabrina Online Discord server and it's dead. Most things I'm passionate about just do not have communities of any sort, and I don't know how to to find other people who like them.

I guess there's probably communities for Nintendo things I like but that's probably pushing into something of a scale way too large to make meaningful relations to others in.

I tried to draw my friend mousebyte, who hasn't gotten around to making a new Mastodon account yet. She doesn't have a reference sheet or anything so I had to just use artistic freedom and details she gave me. Don't feel very confident with digitigrade legs but she liked it at least!

I still have a bit left to implement, but I'm very close to being able to just make stuff in my level editor and directly get it into my game. This means I can start actually designing some levels and get to playtest them as well!

Here's a commission of Maffi! I'm starting to just have artists draw her and apply artistic freedom and see what they come up with.
