After doing a couple of private workshops on how to use #Mastodon, I've decided I could just record a series of tutorials and have everyone benefit from it. Mastodon has a lot of features, and sometimes even long time users aren't aware of all of them! The first episode is about making posts on Mastodon--going over every aspect.

LOL

On second thought, Romeo and Juliet (Op. 64) might have been the punk of its day. And it might be the punk of our day.

Regardless of genre, I do feel it has a message worth conveying. Regardless of who we are, we are all people of passion, love, desire, anguish, regret, shame, dreams and hopes. Hope!

@europeanspodcast Thank you for this great episode. We love libraries right! Now queueing to get my hands on Superstaten: EU och framtiden.
My favourite quote: "Danish Churches are like Swedish churches. They are very chill and don't really take all the religious stuff very seriously".
I like how discussing serious stuff can also be fun.

@vonderleyen might I suggest you get off Twitter. It is bad for you and bad for European digital sovereignty.
A true desire must be accompanied by true action.

@leanderlindahl I accidentally hit the and found your post. Now I’m starting to get into it.

🚨 NEW EPISODE 🚨

The vibrant patterns on Pysanka eggs  are powerful symbols of a nation’s unbroken spirit. 🇺🇦

As we prepare for the high-level meeting for the return of Ukrainian children, our commitment clear, to  the lives we protect together:

💙 offering a safe haven in the EU to millions displaced by the war
🚑 providing unprecedented financial, humanitarian, diplomatic, and military support
💡 providing energy support to help families through the cold winter

Hope is action.

We #StandWithUkraine

I am angry. I am angry because I am sad. I am sad because the world is not what I was promised. At least not what I believe I was promised. The disappointment is swallowing me.

@sa the answer is obviously no, but I was hopeful for a moment.

@sa (…) and cheap (personal) data in huge quantities 😞. Can we use it to grow mental well-being?

This video is gold. The Norwegian Consumer Council entertainingly satirising the crappy tech that is making things increasingly shitty.

What a lovely episode from the @europeanspodcast. I loved haring about @Gargron.

I think that the meaty-no-no list may be an advantage, Dominic. Who wants a next-best alternative? I love tempeh, but I'd never buy meat-free soy-spam. I think the food industry has ended up in a quagmire of trying to replace rather than innovate. We need completely new dishes made from local ingredients. And revive old dishes like ratatouille.

Ask and you shall receive: a word for soy-based yoghurt: Tykfil

🚨 NEW EPISODE 🚨

We think this week’s episode might appeal to a few of you here, because we’re speaking to the founder of this very platform - @Gargron - about his decision to step back from the helm and the future of ethical, supervillain-free online communities.

@jolla @cybette@mastodon.org.uk thank you for the post.
I’m super worried about the size too.
Could you slide the ruler 1 cm down so I can see the measurements in an intelligible format? 😂
I’m dreaming of a 10•5 cm mobile. 🧡
Oh sweet Jolla phone batch 3
Won’t you please, please
Soon be 💭

@_elena @kawunngg :blobcatheart: Thank you!

The sentence that inspired most of my humble resistance, was the one I read by the author of Nepenthes:

“I’m just fed up, and you know what? Let’s fight back, even if it’s not successful. Be indigestible. Grow spikes.”

We've recently gained quite a lot of new followers here on Mastodon (Hi, everyone!)

If you're wondering who we are... We make a weekly podcast and newsletter about Europe that

- isn't boring
- isn't just for people inside the Brussels bubble
- celebrates a Europe much bigger than the EU
- covers politics and policy but also European book, tech, film and TV recommendations
- is rigorously fact-checked but doesn't take itself too seriously

Check us out in your pod feeds!

I don’t think the lie is what threatens the truth. I think not telling the truth is worse.
But it seems to me, that the truth tends to surface on its own. The question is whether you can wait for it.
