@_elena I was planning an ecouraging speech; basically don't get sad. Get better. Make adversity your companion and use it as a tool to get better, sharper, clearer, stronger. But after reading the comments I see that this is an example of how to do just that 😀
Carry on ❤️
That you got a bit sad, means your heart was in it. That's not a bad thing. That is worthwhile.
@frogglin so, are you going to buy bread tomorrow? Or will you buy flour?
@europeanspodcast @A_denie Or, have we - inadvertently - trained ourselves to be suspecious of the good. Somehow learned that only the bad is the 'real' news.
@europeanspodcast Adopt it then ❤️ As long as you don't mind sharing 😉 - I certainly don't.
How many people have decided to contribute to your podcast? How many are listening, week after week? I think you are doing very well in being a positive influence.
I think it is (too) easy to forget all the good stuff.
But we have a choice. Choose to think of the good stuff. Don't ignore the bad. But like my grannie always said 'tag det søde med det sure' ~ 'take the sweet with the sour'.
@A_denie @europeanspodcast such as maybe; The Cream-coloured Courser seen on Öland for the first time in 84 years: https://www.svt.se/nyheter/lokalt/smaland/okenloparen-lockade-tusentals-till-oland-inte-setts-pa-84-ar
Maybe warm winds carried it to Öland. Maybe it got lost. Maybe global warming carried it there.
Maybe the thousands have flocked to Öland because they appreciate nature.
My question is, are we looking for bad news?
A few dead leaves are often left over on the tree till spring. Which do you see, the buds or the withered leaves?
By the way @europeanspodcast, what do you mean ‘Genuinely’?
I feel like there is something to talk about there.

Ask your newsoutlet, news platform, AI and friends, to *also* tell you the good news.

@europeanspodcast I suggest trying out gapminder.org
I certainly don't want to neglect the terrible things going on. But the world actually is moving in the right direction. Fewer people live in extreme poverty today than when I was born. Somehow I feel that saying the 'world is going wrong' is a little bit ignorant and somehow 'The West' devaluing all of the people lifted out of extreme poverty. We can actually eliminate extreme poverty in our lifetime!

We as humans are islands of beauty, wonder and mystery to be explored. The language is bridges that allow us to connect to eachother.
(Inspired by H. Ibsen)
I love about you is that this is a task you’ve taken on! Generally, your penchant for wanting to learn things is admirable—never stop wanting to learn.
Also, I love how supportive people are of this endeavour. Fedi's, you’re amazing.
@_elena I can tell you, learning a new language at our age is going to be a challenge, but incredibly rewarding. You’ll feel your brain forging new pathways, and it’ll get a bit easier. Learning German will pave the way to other Germanic languages :)
Don’t worry too much about grammar; you’ll get it at some point. In my experience, Germans tend to be extremely tolerant of mistakes and very willing to help. Even if your .. my mistakes are so bad they cause confusion they’ll lovingly help clarify.
@elena, any reaction from a local MEP or relevant commissioner on why they are so hell-bent on supporting that project?
@europeanspodcast I agree.
I’ve really enjoyed the playlist.
I feel like you missed mentioning

I challenge anyone to find more songs that mention the Schengen Area.
Apologies friends, I’m going to be unavai for the next four hours for the Europeanest eargasm.
@trezzer @jolla I think there is something weird with the search engines when you search for the mobile. I alsways end up at the page for a sold out batch too. But, if you hafter landing click the main logo you end up where you can place an actual order. Right now for October. https://commerce.jolla.com/products/jolla-phone-october-2026
So... I've gone Linux now.
Being used to the smoothness and reliability of Mac, I'm really surprised at how unique that isn't.
Sure, I made a couple of mistakes. But they all came down to me wanting to be oh-so-clever.
Also, did you know you can play many Windows games from Steam on Linux? I didn't! That was an unexpected surprise.
I can’t help wonder, @_elena what else you can fix!?
