wait what the fuck why does rpg maker mv have steam trading cards

ok its 6:20am im sleep

so i bought rpg maker mv,

my game is finally starting to behave like a game!

it's a cross between minesweeper and an infinite runner, i started it for a game jam but didn't get it into a playable state before the deadline, still workin on it tho cos i feel like it has potential

this kind of thing happens a lot to the point i'm fairly sure i have some form of adhd but i'm scared of asking my gp about it in case it causes me to get gatekept harder re: trans stuff 🙃

i was gonna toot something but then i saw mastodon telling me that "realised" is spelt wrong and forgot what i was gonna toot

i should probably be more concerned about the fact that every single file for this game is currently in the same directory,

it's not even a huge thing this time, i have a grid populated with tiles and i need to give the tiles knowledge of the grid so they know where the player is, but it still feels off somehow

maybe im overthinking this

uuuoooooggghh planning code structure for games has me constantly introducing coupling in places that feel wrong and it hurts

i'll definitely be keeping an eye on easyrpg tho, the player already runs old rpgmaker 2000/2003 games on a whole bunch of different platforms, including web browsers, which is cool

well after some poking around i've found that easyrpg's editor is not fit for use yet, and since the devs are currently focused on the easyrpg player it looks like it won't be for some time

guess i'm buyin rpg maker,

i cooked 53 falafels last night then only 4 of my 7 housemates actually ate any so now we have wayyy too many

tried to make a new project in easyrpg and the editor crashed

off to a cracking start here folks

open rpg maker and rpgboss are both seemingly dead but easyrpg is apparently still goin, gonna check that out before i drop £15 on rpg maker mv i guess

its a damn shame all the attempts at creating an open source alternative to rpg maker keep dying

legit thinking about picking up rpg maker mv while it's on sale so i can make an rpg where u play as a dog

the linux version is only available thru steam tho, which im not sure i like the idea of
