so i loaded up the player sprite from swallow squad to try out aseprite, which turned into adjusting the legs on the run loop to make em fit the bounding box better, which turned into redrawing the legs on pretty much every frame cos they were a mess, and uh, now it's 4am.... i spent 8+ hours working on sprites, somehow

i got all my collision code working nicely so i figured i'd edit some sprites, but it turns out that animated sprite sheets are where grafx2 kinda falls flat on its face

turns out aseprite is in the aur tho so im gonna see if that does it any better

i got some shea butter hand cream and now my hands smell really good πŸ‘Œ

my dudes, i do not fucking care

the year of linux gaming......... it's finally here.................

hmmm.... it seems that bioshock actually runs fine under wine unless the 1.1 update patch is installed..... weird!

why can't i hyperfocus on stuff that's actually important instead of useless things like making a video game run thru wine

*picks up the entire wine project and crushes it between my hands like an accordion*

well i've spent basically the whole day trying to figure out what causes bioshock to crash/not crash and now its 5am and i still have no idea what's going wrong

aaaaaaaaaaaaand now that's crashing too

what the fuck is going on here

i googled around about these memory errors and found a thread on the wine forums about being unable to boot the game unless it was run thru the .lnk file included in the installation, so i figured i'd try it out just to see? and it has booted 5 times in a row without problems now??

i just, don't understand why that would work? isn't a .lnk just a shortcut to the exe??? windows is clearly beyond my comprehension
