there's a bunch of recipes i've used over and over but where i always diverge from the original - mostly swapping meat out for other stuff but also doing conversions to metric, etc

recently i've been editing em myself, so far i've been doing this by printing em out (i got unlimited print credit at work lol) and then cutting and sticking em zine-style and, i'm really liking the way they've come out looking? maybe i'll actually make em into a zine one day.....

i was having fun with all the weird mechanic changes and stuff then it's like "hey go find a darklands biome" and i mean,

i did, but if we go with 1 block = 1 metre then this biome is almost 6km away

i can feel a headache comin on from how much i've been stressing out over going to that fundraiser so i guess i'm bailing

ughhhh theres a trans fundraiser thing tonight and i kinda wanna go but i'd be going on my own and thats got me feelin weird and anxious

maybe i should just start a blog instead of dumping my ~game dev thoughts~ all over everyone's timelines here

so making the teleport only happen when the player faces the door was easy, harder was masking the subtle lighting change on teleport, but i think i managed to do it by using flickering ceiling lights (which i'd already added to give the lighting some variety)

it's not gonna work if the player disables flickering lights but, that's the only method i could think of that doesn't make it obvious that something is happening behind the scenes

i should probably extend this so that the teleport only activates while the player is facing the door but ive been workin on this all afternoon so im gonna take a break,

now to figure out how to add teleport triggers so i can add some (seemingly) non-euclidean rooms

so i fixed this by just setting the player's y position to 0 after calling Move() on the charactercontroller

i still have no idea why Move() messes with the y position when the player isn't colliding with any solid colliders but That's Unity i guess
