It's helpful to know when there's a character that just isn't playable on current patch, but that's not what most tier lists do— robust characters are high tier, gimmick or low-kit characters are low tier. Every time.

Yeah I know the slow, grab-based character is low-tier! But you would think that, if that actually mattered, they wouldn't include them as an archetype in *every single goddamn fighting game*

Long story short, tier lists aren't about which characters are good, they're about which game mechanics beat out other game mechanics.

...but instead of "not every kit can go toe-to-toe in competitive play without being at a disadvantage" it's "hey this character you like is trash go play someone else"
