I complained that I look exactly like my father in our holiday photo this year, so hubs applied some filters. I do not actually look like an 80s hair-band member, and I'm pushing hard on 60.

I've wrapped my head around the idea that this is their problem, and I can't fix it. But it's also my problem to deal with. So I do. But it still makes me angry and sad.
I'm the one with the parrot.

The world has turned topsy-turvy. Every year is Auntie Mame at Thanksgiving and Love, Actually at Christmas. This year hubs started Love, Actually on Thanksgiving Day. There was nothing to do about it but watch Auntie Mame today.

When parrots are happy and safe, they grind their beaks. It's their signal that all is right in the world and they're at peace.
Scooter has had her piece of peanut butter toast (hubs' contribution to a well-rounded diet), some sliced mango, minced baby arugula, pellets. Her whole flock is here, sitting with her in the family room, and she's beak grinding like a fiend, with her eyes 3/4 closed.
Life is good in Scooterland.

This is Scooter. She was supposed to be a rescue, instead she moved in, took over the house, changed the locks and passwords on everything, and tells us we can stay as long as we're obedient and well-behaved.

I'm thinking about getting one of the Ford Lightning F150s, but if I get one I'll have to have mudflaps. Can't have a truck without mudflaps.

Average power use for my house is ~25KWH per day, I deliberately got a larger system because I anticipate adding a couple of BEV vehicles in the near future. Probably 1 electric-only and 1 plug-in hybrid. 2 days before the shortest day of the year, I'm still making more power than my house uses. I wonder what it'll look like during the summer?

Scrolling through memory lane, and an art exhibit at LACMA visited last year. Artist Mickalene Thomas, a piece called "The Inversion of Raquel"

I work all day, then get home just in time to be bullied by my dogs and parrot.
Outside! Outside now!
Dinner! Dinner now!
Outside again! Now!
Attention! Now!
Bedtime! Now!
I love every minute of it.
