An ebullient 9 year old who was on a Christmas Day visit to Calvert Beach in Maryland when got the inspiration to tell her mom she was "looking for a Meg” — and came back with this Otodus megalodon tooth.

Not to get too political, but I think good things are better than bad things

In 2015, I did a road trip around the US Southwest, which included Death Valley, Zion, Bryce, and Canyonlands National Parks as well as Monument Valley Tribal Park, shown here. All of those except Zion are basically deserts, and it rained in every one. And when it rained, it didn't fool around. I got stuck in a flash flood not long after this photo was taken.

This particular one features Glastonbury Tor, with St Michael's Tower, as seen from the Somerset Levels. There has been no use of filters or colour enhancement - the sky really was that red.

One time in grad school I was in a meeting that Would Not End so I said I had to go because my ride was leaving and afterwards my friend texted me to ask "Didn't you drive yourself today" and I was like "Yeah, I'm my ride and I'm leaving."
