Saw a post on a different platform saying states should vote on abortion.

My eyes rolled so hard I think they're stuck.

Full reproductive freedom should not depend on zip code.

Either people with a uterus are free like those without -- or we're not and that's a goddamn problem.

We are sad to note the passing of civil rights activist Kevin Alexander Gray, who died at his home in Columbia, South Carolina, on Tuesday March 7. Gray was a longtime supporter and adviser to The Progressive.

The year is 2029.

A general election is round the corner.

A racist shivers in his unheated house eating cold turnip soup. He got it from a food bank. He wanted tomato soup.

It's his last meal in his house as tomorrow, he's being evicted. He's unable to pay his mortgage. He works two jobs but doesn't get paid much.

But he's happy.

The Tories said they would stop the boats.

They didn't.

But they said they would.

They'll probably do it next time.

So he'll vote for them again.

@martychan Marty I was duped by #Mastodon , I thought it would be just a bunch of us old fossils (hence the name). But I love it here, one of my original Toots was that it is Canadian Twitter, kind, polite but not afraid to have a good discussion over a cold beer.

I am totally new to @Mastodon in terms of its usage, but I am totally aware of how it works.

My last few days experience:

1. I am totally stunned by its utility, freedom and control.

2. Instances/Servers - decentralisation has always been a key issue on other social networks.

3. I have lots of followers on Twitter, and I am ready to ditch that as a Twitter algorithm is becoming ad-centric and illogical shadow banning.

4. Though it has been years since the Mastodon existed, I must say one thing it will take a few more years to be fully adopted in the mainstream as the majority is unaware about centralized and decentralisation of tech and ownership of their content.

5. The Mastodon community is amazing. No doubt why it's trending on other platforms

Lastly, I would like to say, I will be moving to this platform permanently and utilize every functionality that it possesses.

Shameless self-promotion time. Occasionally I'll get inspired and write a sci-fi short story and post it to Reddit. I would appreciate it if you read it and left constructive feedback. Thank you.

Pro-tip for participating in capitalism as a purchaser: put the stuff you want in your cart and then leave it. Many sites have cart-rescue jobs that run and send out enticements to return and finish your order. Sometimes the discounts are significant.

30 years ago, I had a choice: The job in California, or the job in Oklahoma? I'd never been to either. Oklahoma was paying bonuses to people in my field to move there. The cost of living was lower. It seemed like a no-brainer. I still picked California, and am more grateful every day that I did.

She may be the most photographed dog, ever. 😊 She's a cutie, for sure.

I wanted to see if ChatGPT could put me out of the job, so I asked it to write a funny fake fact. To my surprise, it literally just plagiarized one of my own facts. Nearly word for word. I'd say my position remains safe for now.
