Can you really host a technology and culture festival in a fascist state like Texas?
#SXSW is the past, go to Berlin or something, somewhere women can get healthcare without the Police being called

As RuPaul stated, β€œA social media post has never been as powerful as a registered vote.” So, we have our marching orders. We can’t sit back and watch our trans brothers and sisters and favorite drag artists be attacked by right-wing conservatives. We must use our civic duty and vote these bigots out of office. Check out the organizations below for more ways to support. πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

If Frank Capra’s classic β€œIt’s a Wonderful Life" were released today, would Mr. Potter, who encouraged the run on George Bailey’s bank, be played by Donald Trump, who deregulated smaller banks in 2018?

Wife got back from her Catalina hike complaining she didn't see any island foxes and I was like "well, yeah, they have burrows and they know to stay inside them when it rains" and apparently that was not as subtle as I imagined.

@georgetakei

It's also possible the company was distracted by a squirrel in the tree outside the boardroom window. We should look into that.

@ScottSoCal

So basically a collapse triggered by a run triggered by an oligarch. That's not weird at all.

My next business idea: The Boring Bank.

We don't speculate. We don't back risky ventures. We just have savings, checking, and--for the edgy--money market accounts. Comfortably profitable, but not profitable enough to attract vulture capitalists. If there's an organized bank run, the CEO works through lunch.

The Boring Bank. We don't play with your money.

The "never wrong atomic clock" in my office at work is 20 minutes fast. That corresponds to no time zone on this planet, so I'm forced to conclude it's picking up signals from a different planet.

@Swede1952 I love clocks that automatically correct for the goofy twice a year clock adjustment. So much so I designed (3d print and electronics and software) my own clock which does this and also accurately follows Internet time. So called 'atomic' clocks (I have several, and a watch) have a ferrite bar antenna and receive radio time signals which encode the time and the semiannual changes. The are atomic only in that atomic clocks are used at the transmitter. 1/2

will hurt them.

You would only be pegged as a crazy person if the department head is also a COVID-denying moron.
