"Nonetheless, right-wing depravity on this issue is quite evident in South Carolina, where more than a dozen lawmakers have signed on to a bill that could result in a death sentence for anyone who has an abortion."

"But he said men who impregnate shouldn’t face punishment for an abortion.

β€œDifferent feelings, different people,” Trump said."

"South Carolina Republicans float the death penalty for abortion"

Oh, that's not new. A panel I remember from the 1970s showed a newscast promo:
"It's deadly poison, and you may be eating it for dinner. Details tonight, on the 10 o'clock news."

Whenever my husband eats something today, I am going to say "Eat two, Brute."

@samplereality

And when someone else says "Yeah, we're gonna do it anyway, and forgive loans," Republicans in 6 states band together and stop it, nationwide.

We can't forgive student loans because students knew full well what they were getting into but yes, let's bail out banks because golly shucks gee whiz banking is just too difficult for the poor little bankers to wrap their heads around.

@NatalieDavis

Pails filled with car litter for students to use during "active shooter" lockdowns.
Drag queens and furries are the problem.

Bullet proof safe room for US schools.

Tell me again how drag queens are the problem.

(I predict we are less of 5 years away from Republicans suggesting US children should attend school in full riot gear to protect against school shootings - rather than address the gun issue, of course. Kids love riot gear! It comes in cool colors!)

I thought that was too limiting. I read an article on international economics, so I'm ready for any questions.

@ScottSoCal @stina_marie LOL my partner and a friend of ours have their birthday today, and this is exactly how I will serve the salad at our celebratory dinner!

DE-HAIR the Ides of March

I am shaving my long hair and bushy beard to fight childhood cancers by raising money on behalf of #stbaldricks foundation

I raised over $24,000 this year and over 8 years I have raised, by myself, over $200,00 for the cause

Tyson Foods to lay off 1,700 workers, close two chicken plants

One plant is in Arkansas, a state which didn’t pass relaxed child labor laws fast enough for Tyson

Your reminder, this is the same Tyson Foods being sued because managers bet on which workers would die from Covid 19 outbreaks in their cramped facilities

* Tyson Foods annual gross profit for 2022 was $6.668B, a 2.18% increase from 2021

I won’t buy Tyson chicken or any of their products. Who will join me?

Who is this?

Much of the bird hunting I do is from my backyard. I sit out there with my camera and watch the bird feeders and surrounding trees and shrubs. I take a lot of pictures, mostly chipping sparrows and cardinals. I see birds off in the distance and snap a picture thinking it's probably a sparrow. But occasionally when I look through the photos, I have to ask myself, "what is this?" That is the case with this pine siskin, I've never before photographed one, so I had to identify it first.

"Flocks of tiny Pine Siskins may monopolize your thistle feeder one winter and be absent the next. This nomadic finch ranges widely and erratically across the continent each winter in response to seed crops. Better suited to clinging to branch tips than to hopping along the ground, these brown-streaked acrobats flash yellow wing markings as they flutter while feeding or as they explode into flight." - allaboutbirds.org
