One of my co-workers is a crow. He shows up a couple of times a week, to knock on my office window and scream at me. I'm pretty sure he's an efficiency director.
Today I decided to appease my co-worker and leave mixed nuts on the windowsill. He showed up, screamed until the other efficiency director came, both ate the nuts, then paraded back and forth in front of my window, berating me for wasting time leaving nuts when I should have been working. Fine, be that way.
But I'll do it again.

DeSantis is punishing the Hyatt Regency Miami for hosting a Drag Christmas ball back in December. He’s actually taken away its liquor license.

DeSantis is out of control, obsessed with oppressing freedom and gender identity expression and willing to abuse state power to do it.

My son told me that I am bigger, fatter and older than any other mommy and that I win.
At least I have that going for me.

On 16th March, 1968 Warrant Officer Hugh Thompson Jnr was flying helicopter reconnaissance for an attack on an alleged North Vietnamese-controlled village at My Lai.

As the ground attack developed below, Thompson realised he was in fact witnessing something something else:

A massacre.

He decided to act. /1 🧡 #history #histodons

Apple's choice to distinguish an incoming Facetime call from a regular voice call by displaying a full-screen video preview on your phone's screen is actually a pretty smart #ux decision.

Speaking as someone who just narrowly avoided blindly clicking the "Accept Call" button and flashing my elderly mother, I appreciate it.

Definitely not - there's a whole Thing about."Follow Fridays" where you suggest people to follow.

@drfunkybutt I don’t think it’s against mastodon etiquette to recommend people to follow.

All that you’re doing is telling people about another person whose content they may enjoy while simultaneously letting the content creator know that you like what they’re doing.

It seems like a nice thing to do, as long as the intentions are genuine.

Oh, nothing to see here... Rosa Parks in one proposed FL social studies textbook reduced to a lady who "showed courage" and "rode the bus." With no mention of race or racism in the encounter. This is how fear is destroying public ed in FL. #EdScare Http://nyti.ms/3YUGFlj

I signed up for an email account with the Church of Satan so I can receive direct communication from our Dark Lord, Mailer Daemon.

One of my own (very minor) creations. Nearly everyone who has seen it has called it dark, but I see the open door, with light spilling out.

@rwba

I don't know when that was, but in the 1980s, when I bought my first house in the US, my mortgage interest rate was 16%, and I counted myself lucky.

@samlitzinger

Well, calling something what it is has been problematic.

FWIW, he was spot-on. It was propaganda.

@spocko

I'm sure I've read the first one - yes, just checked, and it's on my Kindle. I didn't know it was a series. I'll have to look at the rest of them.

@ScottSoCal another book series that really understands the media, PR and behind the scenes machinations for big alien questions is the Not Alone series by Craig Falconer.
