Up the coast from you, just a tiny bit, and my parrot is not a happy bird. She wants outside, she wants sun, she wants warm, and she gets clouds, cold, rain. A Black man I talked to told me the thing that really got under his skin was the elevator doors opening and the (white) people waiting would decide they didn't really want the elevator, after all. He said it was like a slap in the face, every time.
