Good morning, friends. πΌπΌπΌ
It's Friday and I know it's 5 PM somewhere so enjoy.
Yesterday, I had lunch with some of my former coworkers. Hmmm ... I started to use the work "old" instead of "former," but some of them are indeed not old. Okay, my train is trying to jump the track. Oops, there it goes.
I used to look forward to weekends, sometimes. My old job would often require me to work up to 20 days without a weekend break. During those times I would joke that "Thank God it's Friday. I did this with a smile because other than the weird hours, it was a pretty good job. When actual "take a break," weekends came they were usually pretty long, sometimes several days. I have to say, the anticipation of a weekend was usually much more exciting than the actual weekend.

Another economic success story from the Biden Administrationπ: The prime-age employment rate is now higher than the pre-recession peak.
And it did so in record time, despite starting from a lower base.
It's been a historically rapid and complete recovery. Took over 12 year to get back to pre-recession peak following the Great Recession -Skanda Amarnath
And yet, somehow, the people who publish economic stories are still beating the drum for recession, and issuing memos to companies they invest in and control that there must be layoffs to offset this recession they're talking about.
Recessions are good for Republican politicians and the oligarchs who control them.

Amazing Roman theater in Aspendos, in Anatolia (southern Turkey). The facility was built in the middle of the 2nd century CE, on a natural slope. This theater is the best-preserved ancient theater in Asia Minor. The building was able to accommodate 12,000 spectators. [798x532]

How is toilet paper like the USS Enterprise?
They both circle Uranus and search for Klingons.
I need all my young followers to know that Uranus basically never stops being funny, and yes, most adults will forever have to fight back giggles
We pretty much only put on the serious face when teaching kids, outside of the classroom that mask drops super fast
It's like a whole conspiracy to try and convince kids it's not funny, but the conspiracy has failed, and yet we persist
Me, wondering what it says about my psychological state that I looked at that picture and saw an alligator jumping out of the water and catching a bird.

So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
