#Introduction
My name is Karen, which used to be a perfectly good name, but you know what happened to it. It kills me. Anyway, I live in Colorado with my husband and our kids live nearby. I am retired from teaching ESL to every age from kinder to adults. I loved my career.
I try to be a positive and encouraging person, but that does not mean I am okay with much of what is going on. If you vote Republican please donβt follow me, we are not morally compatible.

In 2020, I had a trip planned to Munich, for hubs and I to visit the Christmas Markets. COVID ruined it. This morning I decided we're doing it this year. The whole city goes nuts for Christmas.

In the innocent days of when we thought the worst thing that could happen in Canadian politics was multiple prorogations, there was a beautiful, respectful FB group who tried to just try and enjoy life. Our biggest schism was Brussel Sprouts. You were always classified as pro or con. If some disagreement occurred in the group, it was always put down to "of course you think that way, you like/dislike brussel sprouts ". (I was pro BS, btw).
Of if they eat Marmite. You can tell them they're wrong for eating Marmite.
There have to be lines drawn. Clear lines, that can't be crossed.
You donβt need to agree with everyone, but you also donβt need to tell every person you disagree with that you disagree.
Unless, of course, that person is racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, misogynist, anti-abortion rights, anti-vax, or anti-facts.
If any of those apply, by all means, please feel free to let them know theyβre wrong.
Being "made to seem" racist.
Uh huh. Sure.
Gee, I wonder why anyone would think such a thing ...

Yeah, that what they used to get elected, but this is what's hanging in the back room of their campaign headquarters.
A baby weasel once paused long enough for me to get a photo of it. This was a few years ago now, but I still remember the thrill I got at seeing it. It disappeared quickly, hopefully finding its mother and siblings.
Brought over from the other instance, didn't want to lose this cutie.

So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
