Hello, Mastodon! I'm gay and obsessed with cats. Meet my maine coon, Jason Meowmoa. I will probably post lots of pictures of him. #introduction
During lockdown in 2020 I became a fan of the Falcon Cam on top of the Marriott Customs House Tower in Boston. The nest this year has four eggs... correction, three now because one hatched while I wasn't looking! https://marriott.ozolio.com/mvc-pulse-boston/
I'm wondering if your house gets surges/spikes coming in on the power lines? I have dozens (literally, 50+ of them in my house) and only one has failed in the last 10 years. It stopped responding to control signals to turn on or off.
When LED light bulbs started becoming more commercially available a few years back I remember being really excited, not just by their efficiency and savings, but by the longevity their manufacturers claimed. 10 years! Wow! That helped justify the initial expense.
Fast forward to today and I donβt think Iβve owned one thatβs lasted longer than their incandescent counterparts. Iβve only had Cree and Philips, but theyβve all died in about 3 yearsβ time. Feels a bit like hook, like & sinker.
Okay. I know I know a lot of folks who are in IT or IT adjacent; we're trans women after all, and that stereotype exists for a reason. So listen up, spread this far and wide, and carve it into stone:
If you require any particular type of character to be in a user's password, I hope you never again close a door without at least one of your fingers being in the way. If I can't type a full, grammatically correct sentence that is unique to your website, then you have officially Fucked Up.
After a lifetime of being misunderstood and gaslit, being in intentional #ActuallyAutistic spaces is a life changing thing. If youβre a late identified autistic adult and want to connect, learn, and affirm with others in a space that you can unmask and BE YOU, consider joining my new group starting next week.

Good morning, friends! πΈπΈπΈ
It's Cinco De Mayo, it's been eight years since a significant lifechanging and lifesaving event, for me anyway. But that's oversharing. We all have or will have things go wrong with our bodies, particularly when we get older. I prefer to keep those things private, in fact I feel I've said too much already. The reason I keep them private especially from family and friends, is because there is no reason to have something like that weighing on their minds. Why Start worrying them over something that they have no control over? For me the only problem is my wife, it's she who I lean on. At times like that she needs someone to lean on, besides me.
"Worrying is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength- carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.β - Corrie Ten Boom

My dogs' clocks run fast. Dinner at 4:30 means they start demanding food at 1:30.

"It is a horror show when heβs left to his own devices. You may want his policies but #Trump will not deliver. He will deliver chaos."
And yet Barr wanted him to be the Unitary Executive, with ultimate power. And did everything in his power to make that happen. Useless pustule on a hemmorroid on the ass of humanity.
Never fear - they got there - a net loss of 1,055 seats - with 4 councils yet to declare
Well done, #toriesOut !!
What we're seeing from the Atlantic, NYT, etc. is not journalism or reporting but active information and cultural warfare against trans people, and it is genocidal in intent.
They don't care about facts, evidence, studies, findings, or even the well being of trans children and adults.
They're determined to do away with us and any remaining support we might have in society at large. This is them putting their thumb on the political scale.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
