Pitiful.
Okay, now Iβm felling sorry for pigeons. This is not a good turn of events. I put one of the feeders up while Iβm sitting outside - before the pigeons showed up. When they showed, I put it away. Then they flew down to find the big feeder empty. But maybe one or two seeds fell out of the hang feeder when I moved it, so they all ended up over there.(send the word to beware). In this picture there are at least 15-20 pigeons in that little space.
Just had a guy and his two kids in the shop, the oldest was 4 1/2, she told me so proudly ... She had a beautiful lavender cardigan on and matching socks ... I told her I loved that colour, we had a little chat about purple and all the purple things we have ... Then she asked me "are you a girl?" ... I looked at her dad and said can I let her know, he said yes
I crouched down to her level and said "that's a nice question you asked" ... and then said "I was born a boy, yuck, and for many reasons I always felt like a girl" ... Her eyes lit up, and I got a huge hugz and she whispered in my ear, "you're a girl"
I am more than likely the first trans person she has met, I made her feel comfortable and listened to ... one at a time ... Her dad thanked me for being kind.
Never dismiss a childs question, you might feel they are abrupt, they are not, they just want to know
First impression are important

I clasp my hands behind my back, and get a smile and nod in during business introductions, before they extend their hand for a handshake. 80%+ it works. The rest of the time I grit my teeth and bare it.
Didnβt get to finish grocery shopping because the store had the AC turned up too high and people were walking too slowly. Fortunately my husband is getting it done while I wait in the car so I donβt hit overstimulation.
Before I knew I was #ActuallyAutistic Iβd be beating myself up for being βlazyβ and βdramatic.β Now Iβm just attending to my sensory needs and remembering THAT IS OKAY π

Those are the people who make me wish I'd taken Spanish in school, instead of German.
To the very, very white person late last night...
You are at a taco festival, in downtown Los Angeles, after sundown. I know you asked me your question because I was one of the few other white people there.
Don't yell at me to "speak English" when the answer to your question ("Where are we?") is "La plaza de cultura y artes".
Today's queer indie author review: RD Noland's The Curious Thing About the Apartment Vent:
"There were so many things to enjoy about this story, from the meet-cute of the eavesdropping via air vent, to the fun side characters, to the developing relationship... It was hard to put this one down."

The three muralists were appraising a wall on Alabama Street last week, when one noticed a young person on a skateboard watching them from a distance.
It was 19-year-old Γngel Velazquez, who was skating home when he spotted the trio planning a mural at the Latino Task Force Hub near 19th and Alabama streets.
Agana was there β alongside Anthony Jimenez and their mural mentor, JosuΓ© Rojas. They talked with the young Velazquez and decided to teach him their craft.

So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
