So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.

I used to, particularly with work colleagues. My "solution" was to completely separate work from personal. I not only don't look for friends at work, I actively resist the idea of forming friendships with co-workers.
Of course the downside to that is that I don't get into social situations outside of work, so there's no opportunity to make friends that way, either.
Ran across an article on RSD and now wondering if thatโs the name for some of my brain gremlins. I thought RSD was more of an ADHD thing so assumed I didnโt have it, but this article describes some of my reactions quite well. Anyone else have thoughts about RSD and autism?

Has somebody in your family been affected by Rapid Onset Transphobia, or ROT?
ROT is a social contagion which may afflict family members or friends who've been possibly been indoctrinated by other ROT-ers in their life, or been influenced by media.
Some years ago I had a cherry blossom tree I planted in my backyard - this was based on one of my photos of it one spring. Still makes me smile.
