My AmEx does that for me. When I'm paying for something online, I can request a virtual card from them, and it's only valid for one transaction. If someone tries to use it again, it's automatically flagged as a fraud charge.
Several people in this thread have recommended I use "privacy.com" to create one-off credit card numbers to thwart the companies that hike autopay subscription rates. I took a look at it and discovered the company is in bed with Peter Thiel's evil Palintir.
No thanks.
Deer deliver in the strangest of places! If you find a fawn in your yard, leave it alone, do not touch, move or feed it. They have no scent and predators cannot find them unless humans interfere. Mom leaves during the day for 2 primary reasons: to feed, and to keep her scent away. Mom will return, but not until dusk and not if humans are around. If you discover the gift of a fawn enjoy the experience, and let the Mom do what comes naturally. Please share, thank you. #wildlife
@Hey_Beth @oliphant Iβve been here for over 4 years and have never condoned posting screenshots. In fact, Iβve argued against doing it and generally hate it as an idea.
However, we need to shut down these people posting as βleftistsβ whether theyβre real or not. Theyβre intentionally speeding lies and misinformation in order to depress progressive activity and the vote. Itβs an epidemic lately.
I cannot in good conscience ignore it any longer. Stakes are too high.
Todayβs fact free troll.
Once again, people Iβm following are following this kind of account and boosting my stuff into itβs timeline and I end up with the bullshit.
Please vet your followers or Iβm just going to do what I ended up doing on Twitter- blocking people who mindlessly follow back and amplify trash.
Last night I was with a friend explaining my theory of how autistic folks step blindly into emotional mine fields laid by interlocutors of all neurotypes β the conflict isnβt as simple as βNT vs NDβ but βstatus-blind autist vs thin-skinned anyoneβ
β where βthin-skinnedβ isnβt an insult, its just that in this particular situation or relationship or topic thereβs a trigger or lack of trust so the sensitive one both *sends* and *reacts to* subtextual signals that the autist is unaware of, then suddenly changes the subject from whatever the autist is monotropically focusing on to their own feelings, but instead of saying in *words*
βi canβt focus on your point right now since Iβm having feelings and need to clarify your intentions and our relative social status and intimacy levels first but then I promise weβll get back on trackβ
they just sigh and interrupt and accuse
and while theyβre waiting for an *apology* the autist is still trying to *explain* that no, I didnβt mean to offend but can I just finish my point (so now theyβre trying to explain two things at once, poorly) which comes off as invalidating and it all goes sideways π§

I'd guess it was a TFG requirement, since he can't handle anything but sycophantic adoration.
Which forces the question of why CNN agreed to it, but...
A friend helps you move.
A best friend helps you move the body.

I used to, particularly with work colleagues. My "solution" was to completely separate work from personal. I not only don't look for friends at work, I actively resist the idea of forming friendships with co-workers.
Of course the downside to that is that I don't get into social situations outside of work, so there's no opportunity to make friends that way, either.
Ran across an article on RSD and now wondering if thatβs the name for some of my brain gremlins. I thought RSD was more of an ADHD thing so assumed I didnβt have it, but this article describes some of my reactions quite well. Anyone else have thoughts about RSD and autism?

Building my first RAID array, using a SCSI card on a Windows NT server, setting the IRQ with DIP switches on the card, configuring the drivers, installing the software and - OMG! It works!
