Port Side Of The Pt Reyes

The Pt Reyes has been one of my favorite photographic subjects ever since I discovered her washed up on the shore of Tomales Bay many years ago. I don't know her history but she has been sitting here dacaying for years.
That process was hastened by a photographer just recently when he set the stern on fire and burnt the back of the boat almost completely. As the United States heads toward running out of cash in a few weeks, here's a reminder how this happened:

* The law says what tax rates are, determining revenue.
* Each year laws are enacted that direct money to be spent a certain way.
* An older law limits national debt.
* Republicans drove up the debt during the Trump Admin (tax cuts, airline bailouts, etc) so that the limit is about to be reached.

The laws are logically incompatible.

Last night my respected mother Tahira Rashid passed away.

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ‎

From God we are & to God must we return.

This is our prayer as Muslims. A reminder that we are here due to the Grace of God & we belong & return to Him.

She is survived by her husband, 4 children, & 11 grandchildren. I owe her so much, yet so much remains. I don’t know what to think or feel. I’m numb. I’ll have more to say later perhaps. For now I’ll be taking time offline.

i just realized - Word is infuriating because it's so neurotypical. it has certain ways it wants you to do things but it doesn't tell you. i end up spending more time trying to understand the current format and trying in vain to persuade it to understand what i want, while it makes unexpected reactions to everything i do

Some hospitals refusing to mask anymore because they claim people are likely to get #COVID elsewhere anyway. That's a dereliction of duty. Regardless of what is happening elsewhere, no one should ever have to risk their health while seeking medical care. Do no harm.

Yesterday I made a wee loop of some figures dancing by a river, & only realised after posting that I'd made a #RiverDance and should have, you know, done the *proper* dance.

So I decided to give it a go.
