@Npars01 @ScottSoCal @jwcph @MugsysRapSheet @SrRochardBunson @AbandonedAmerica Late-stage capitalism becomes like the last hour of a game of Monopoly, with one person cackling and collecting rents while everyone else screams in important fury until finally some hero (usually a young person) just overturns the board and scatters the pieces.
Or it's exactly as FDR said: it's not enough for everyone to get a Square (ie, fair) Deal, as his uncle Teddy wanted. At some point one person has all the good cards, and it's time to reshuffle the deck and have a New Deal to allow everyone to start from scratch.
That's what revolutions are.
"does he share Johnsonβs contempt for integrity"
Is he a Tory? The answer seems self-evident.

My dreams are usually surreal, but incredibly vivid while I'm having them, and they can definitely affect my emotional state when I wake up.
@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic @actuallyautistics I don't t know. -Coffee.
And If the brainfog doesn't disappear.... another coffee. Then I ask myself what the hell I dreamt last night.
Often, when I wake up in a weird mood, it was a weird dream, which caused that.
Happens that I dream very realistic stories. Then I have to bring order to that chaos. What's real and what is dream fiction.... - it's complicated. I need more coffee...
What is the relationship of my #ActuallyAutistic comrades and their favorite objects? What is it?
Mine is a beard trimmer that I bought in 2007 which finally gave way to its destiny yesterday. I realized that its life and journey often reflected my own.
I wrote about the experience and my thoughts on my blog.

The smart-ass living in my head wants me to reply:
"By plotting and achieving revenge"
But that would be rude.
How can #ActuallyAutistic people transform grief & pain to empowerment & fulfillment?
Of course they are. A terrorist is one who uses violence or the threat of violence to effect political change. They're US citizens. That makes them domestic terrorists.
White supremacist caught at the White House.
Assault with a dangerous weapon
Reckless operation of a motor vehicle
The threat to kill, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm on a President, Vice President, or family
Many of you, even here, take issue when I call these people domestic terrorists
Missing the forest for the trees and getting upset over semantics
Let me make myself clear. White supremacists are domestic terrorists
If you see it otherwise then youβre part of the problem

More likely they'll have estates quietly crumbling into ruins
All over Europe & the UK, hikers come across abandoned castles and huge homes, built at great expense off the rents from feudal-era tenant farmers. Crumbling heaps
@AbandonedAmerica photographs similar edifices in America
These McMansions are kept up because they're a wasteful extravagance, even for them. A money pit
That's what's wrong with the hoarding of wealth, it stagnates
Cool History: The Public Universal Friend
In 1776, after a rough illness, a 24-year-old in Rhode Island claimed to have died. They said they were then resurrected genderless. They abandoned their birth name and pronouns, becoming, the Public Universal Friend.
Becoming a Quaker preacher, The Public Universal Friend gathered a large following and was quite influential. They opposed slavery, empowered unmarried women, welcomed black people, and encouraged peace with the Iroquois. They even founded a settlement called The Gore.
There were numerous attempts to arrest the Friend for blasphemy, but they all failed. In one incident, the women of the house drove off the invading men, tearing their clothes, and in another, the Friend escaped skillfully on horseback.
Pretty rad, all in all.

Port Side Of The Pt Reyes
The Pt Reyes has been one of my favorite photographic subjects ever since I discovered her washed up on the shore of Tomales Bay many years ago. I don't know her history but she has been sitting here dacaying for years.
That process was hastened by a photographer just recently when he set the stern on fire and burnt the back of the boat almost completely. An even older law says: "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned."
So, there's that.
As the United States heads toward running out of cash in a few weeks, here's a reminder how this happened:
* The law says what tax rates are, determining revenue.
* Each year laws are enacted that direct money to be spent a certain way.
* An older law limits national debt.
* Republicans drove up the debt during the Trump Admin (tax cuts, airline bailouts, etc) so that the limit is about to be reached.
The laws are logically incompatible.
