That is part of the problem the older you get. Family is invested in how they've come to see and accept you and also in many ways explain you. In denying your autism they feel as if they are still being kind and fair to you. To accept you as they always have. Which isn't super helpful if you want them to see you in your new light and because of it change that dynamic.

SPEAKING OF MUSIC: I just put together an 8-minute bit of trance-y electronica derived from a NASA recording of data from Juno as it did a flyby of the Jovian moon Ganymede. You know, like you do. It's here if you want to check it out:

A simple question for all those protestors that waste their time turning up to pride parades πŸ₯°

@tristansnell

I don't think he shared them, I think he sold them. I think that's why he kept them in the first place - as a source of income.

The very worst possibility of Trump's betrayal of America:

In Oct 2021, CIA Counterintel warned that an unusually high number of US spies were being killed, captured, or compromised.

In Jan 2021, Trump stole documents on these kind of informants - and may have shared them.

The reason why inanimate objects are used in slogans about humans is to make people more comfortable using them casually.
β€œStop the boats” is not for those who have no problem being hostile to others based on race or creed. It is for those sitting on the fence of overt prejudice.

Ah, gotcha. I was not familiar with the term in this context. Once again I am learning of a known, labelled trait that is me all over. It is something I have been gently (usually) mocked for my entire life.
I infodump and on things of concern I insist on it. When Dad was in hospital & had a sundowners episode I went to nurse station & said "Get me someone who can tell me everything there is to know about sundowners."

Sex discussion

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic

Orgasms, yes, very important. Sex (with someone else involved) is more tricky, because I have that whole "don't touch me unless I know you and trust you" thing happening. Since 2010 there's been no one I know and trust well enough for that.

What role does sex play in the lives of my #ActuallyAutistic comrades?

Some of us absolutely need it for regulation, others not. Others see it thru it a different prism. It’s taboo to talk about it, let’s change that.

I can't find where this thread started but I think I get the gist of the topic. I have (politely) grilled my various specialists, & dad's when he was alive, for detail & context; they have always been responsive & appear to enjoy it. I "justify" my inquiry with "I'm an engineer; I find the human body fascinating." That generally shifts them into professorial mode & I get what I seek - detailed understanding of their diag, Rx.

It started with Matthew inviting us to infodump. Ortho was on my mind because a brace is on my knee - it's what's happening now.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic @actuallyautistics

I did that yesterday, with the orthopedic surgeon, when I was asking about treatment. I don't know what he thought about it, but he kept his professionalism and answered all my questions.

I know it drives doctors nuts, but how can I trust the answers they give me if I don't give them the complete context of the question?
